Mohit Nayak, a Class V student from the 1 No. Malijan project centre, had dropped out of school due to poor academic performance and lack of awareness among his guardians regarding the importance of education. His situation was identified during routine motivational home visits conducted by the project team. Following this, Mr. Bipen Indwar, an Animator, held discussions with Mohit’s parents to explain the importance of education and encouraged them to enroll their child in our daily evening tuition classes. With counseling and motivation, Mohit’s parents agreed and began sending him regularly to the tuition centre. Mohit received continuous academic guidance, regular monitoring, and encouragement from the Animator. Over time, he showed noticeable improvement in his studies and confidence. As a result of his progress, Mohit was successfully re-enrolled in Model School, Sonabeel, in Class VI. Currently, Mohit continues to attend the evening tuition classes and is being closely monitored at the study centre to ensure consistent attendance and to prevent the risk of dropping out again. Mohit Nayak’s story stands as a strong example of how daily tuition, parental engagement, and regular follow-up can positively transform the lives of children from disadvantaged tea garden communities.
