North East Diocesan Social Service Society has been actively working in the field of Disaster Management across Northeast India in collaboration with different agencies. The organization believes that preparedness and prevention are the most effective ways to protect communities in a region that is highly vulnerable to various natural and human-induced disasters.

Over the past several years, NEDSSS has implemented a number of disaster management and resilience-building programs. It has helped in preparing families and communities to respond effectively during disasters through awareness generation, preparedness planning and capacity building at the household level. Community participation was sought in identifying local risks, preparing mitigation plans, strengthening local institutions and improving resilience against disasters.

Through these initiatives, NEDSSS continues to strengthen community resilience, enhance disaster preparedness and promote sustainable development throughout Northeast India.
