NEDSSS is committed to provide timely emergency relief and humanitarian response during disasters across the Northeast region in collaboration with government agencies, civil society organizations, local communities and other stakeholders. The organization works to ensure immediate assistance, rehabilitation, and long-term recovery support for vulnerable and disaster-affected populations.
Floods are among the most recurring disasters in the Northeast region, causing large-scale displacement, destruction of property and loss of livelihoods. In response to flood emergencies, NEDSSS mobilizes rapid relief response in collaboration with district administrations, disaster management authorities, local NGOs, youth groups, community-based organizations.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, NEDSSS actively engaged in emergency response efforts to support vulnerable communities affected by health risks, lockdowns and economic disruptions. The organization collaborated with health department, local authorities, community volunteers and partner organizations, to provide essential relief materials including food supplies, medicines, hygiene kits, masks, sanitizers etc.
Through collaborative efforts and community participation, the organization aims to strengthen resilience and ensure faster recovery during natural disasters.
